Our foundation is named after a Lutheran pastor, Gábor Sztehlo, who was a rescuer of
Jewish children during World War II., a pedagogue, who set up post-war orphanages on the
basis of self-government, and an organiser of church homes for handicapped and retarded
children as well as for the aged.
